If a child's foot is right up to the end of the shoe, it's too small. There should be a thumb's width of space between the toes and the front of the shoe. Remember though, that shoes that are too big can do as much damage as those that are too small.

There is also a padded arch support within the leather footbed. There is a traditional lace fastening to keep the Froddo school shoes secure around the foot and a chunky rubber sole.
